Max May Be Walking Soon!

Here is a little video of Max pushing around his little train and walking behind it. He's also doing a lot of standing by himself without holding on to anything. Who knows, maybe he'll take his first steps soon!

Mary Poppins Knows What She's Talking About

Wow, I've been slacking! I guess now that the holidays are over things are slowing down around here. Last week though, EVERYONE was sick. Max caught a stomach bug at Mother's Day Out and passed it on to Connor and I. Shawn got a little bit of it, but not near the impact that the rest of us got. Thankfully, we are on the road to recovery now.

Max also had an ear infection earlier this month. The infection is gone now, but he still has some fluid in his ears so the doctor has him on a regimen of antibiotics for a month. It is supposed to keep another infection from occurring while the fluid finally clears out of his ears. We went through the same thing with Connor and he never got another ear infection so it worked. We are hoping for the same result here. Only problem is Max WILL NOT take the medicine. As soon as you get it in his mouth it goes shooting across the room. Now we are mixing it with chocolate syrup and getting him to take it that way. As they say, "A spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down."

Santa versus Jesus

Shawn and Connor were talking yesterday morning, and here is a little excerpt from the conversation.

"Daddy, does God live in my tummy?"

"God is everywhere, so yes, I guess he is in your tummy."

"I thought so. I bet he was with Santa when he delivered my presents and helped him out on Christmas."

Then, later in the day, he and Mimi where drawing a map of all the places Connor goes and is familiar with. When they got to church Mimi asked what they should draw to represent church. Connor said, "Let's draw a plate of cookies for baby Jesus."

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

We had a wonderful Christmas! My parents came in from Austin to see Max's first Christmas and to be here with Connor for the first time. Shawn's parents, brother, his girlfriend and her son were all here for present opening so it was packed, but really fun! Below are some pictures of our day.
Max went his 9 month appointment on the 18th. He's pretty small. I don't have the stats in front of me, but he weighed somewhere around 18 pounds 6 oz I think. He was 5 ounces smaller than Connor at this age, but 1/2 inch longer. Who knows! I worry because he doesn't seem to be getting as much milk as I feel like he should be, but the pediatrician said not to worry. He was in line with what he would expect...we just have small kiddos! Today he has a little fever, so hopefully that goes away soon!
Celebrating Christmas Eve!
